if和whether的区别

whether和if的区别主要有含义不同、用法不同。whether的含义：是否；不管；无论；if含义：如果；即使；每当；条件；设想；whether用作连词，意思是“是否，是不是”，可引导名词从句或动词不定式短语。

whether和if有哪些区别

一、意思不同

1.whether：(表示迟疑或两个可能性之间的选择)是否;(表示两种情况都真实)是…(还是)

2.if：如果;假若;倘若;当;无论何时;每次

二、用法不同

1.whether：whether用作连词，意思是“是否，是不是”，可引导名词从句或动词不定式短语。whether还可引导让步状语从句，意思是“不管，无论”，从句中通常用一般现代时代替将来时。

2.if：if作为从属连词，可引导条件状语从句、让步状语从句和名词从句。if引导条件状语从句，从句可为真实条件从句，也可为虚拟条件从句。

三、侧重点不同

1.whether：whether引导的从句常可以与连词or或or not直接连用。

2.if：if则不能与引导的从句常可以与连词or或or not直接连用。

if和whether有时可以互换

1.表示是否（隐含是与否的选择），名词性从句（主语从句除外）中:
