in addition to和in addition的区别
in addition to整个词组相当于一个介词,所以to的后面要接宾语;in addition相当于副词,通常放在从句的句首,后面接完整的句子。
in addition to和in addition的区别
除了in addition和in addition to表达“除了…之外，没有”的意思之外，还有一些词也表达“除了…之外，没有”的意思，用法也不同。
一.except：它表示的是“除了...之外，没有”，也就是说except后面接的是例外情况。
举例：
1.I wouldn't have accepted anything except a job in Europe. （我只接受在欧洲的工作。）
句中的a job in Europe是I唯一愿意接受的工作，也就是说，“除了在欧洲的工作，其他的我都不接受”。
2.They all went to sleep except me.（除我之外，他们都去睡觉了。）
句中的me是唯一一个还没睡觉的人，是个例外情况。
二.except for：except for与except的含义时一样的，也表示“除了...之外，没有”。但是，两者的用法不尽相同：当位于句末时，两者可以互换；当位于句首时，只能用except for。
举例：
1.I can do nothingexcept / except forswimming in the dog days.（在三伏天里，除了游泳，我什么事也做不成。）
2.Except fora broken wood chair, the room was empty. （屋子里除了一张破木椅，什么都没有。）
三.apart from：apart from的含义跟except和except for是一样的。只是在用法上，apart from皆可以放在句末，也可以放在句首。
举例：
1.It's a good piece of work, apart from a few slight faults.（除了一些小缺点之外，这不失为一件漂亮的作品。）
2.Apart from Bobby, all the children like music.（除了鲍比，所有的孩子都喜欢音乐。）
四.other than：该短语的含义与except和except for相同。但是，在用法上不同的是：该短语一般跟在否定结构后面。
举例：
1.He has no friend other than you. （除你之外，他就没有别的朋友了。）
2.The tall figure that you saw was none other than our manager.（你所见的那位身材魁梧的先生不是别人正是我们的经理。）
addition的用法
(1) in addition 此外，另外，还有。如：
In addition, they do not match very much. 除此之外，他们两人并不十分般配。
We met some friends and other people in addition. 我们遇见几位朋友，还遇见其他一些人
(2) in addition to 除……之外。如：
We play football in addition to basketball. 除了篮球外，我们还踢足球。
In addition to English, he has to study a second foreign language. 除英语外，他还得学第二外语。
其中的to为介词，所以后接动词作宾语时要用动名词。如：
In addition to giving a general introduction to computers, the course also provides practical experience. 课程除了大致介绍电脑知识外，还提供实际操作的机会。
2. 当主语后跟有in addition to引出的介词短语时，谓语动词仍与其前的主语保持一致。如：
The teacher, in addition to his students, was interested in the book. 老师和他的学生都对这本书感兴趣。
